Can you do structural work like removing a wall or fitting a beam?
Yes. We regularly form new openings, fit steel beams and alter load-bearing walls to open up homes. This work is done to the structural engineer's design and signed off by building control, so it is safe and properly documented. We can help arrange the engineer's calculations if you do not already have them.
Do I need drawings and planning permission before you start?
It depends on the job. Small internal works often need neither, while extensions and new builds usually need drawings, and sometimes planning permission and building control approval. We will tell you honestly what your project is likely to need and can work alongside your architect and building control inspector.
How long does a general building project take?
It varies with size and scope, from a few days for a small renovation to several months for a new build. Once we understand your project we will give you a realistic timescale in writing, and John will keep you posted on progress so you always know where things stand.
Do you clean up after the work?
Yes. We protect your home while we work, clear up at the end of each day and remove waste responsibly. When the job is finished we walk round with you to make sure everything is right before we consider it complete.
