Why refurbish?

Fall back in love with the home you already have

If your home feels dated, cramped or simply worn out, a refurbishment is often the most cost-effective way to fall back in love with it. Rather than tackling one tired room at a time over many years, a planned refurbishment lets us update everything together, so the finish is consistent, the disruption is over sooner, and you get to enjoy the whole home straight away.

What is included

What does a full house refurbishment include?

A refurbishment can be as light or as thorough as you need. Typically it covers replastering and redecorating throughout, updating electrics and plumbing, new flooring, and fresh kitchens and bathrooms. It often includes reconfiguring rooms, removing walls to open up living space, improving insulation, and replacing tired doors, skirting and fittings. We tailor the scope to your budget and your priorities, and we set it all out clearly before any work begins.

Planning your project

Should I refurbish room by room or all at once?

Both approaches work, and the right one depends on your budget and how you live. Doing everything in one project is usually quicker overall, gives a more consistent finish, and often works out better value because the team and materials are on site together. Refurbishing room by room spreads the cost over time and lets you stay in the rest of the house. When we visit, we will talk through the trade-offs honestly and help you decide what suits you best.

Your team

Who will be working in my home?

You deal with the same small, trusted team from start to finish. John runs the site and keeps the schedule on track. Marian prepares your quote and keeps the costs clear, with no hidden fees. Dan and Niko carry out the build and take real pride in a tidy site and a proper finish. We treat your home with respect, clean up as we go, and keep you informed at every stage, so a refurbishment never feels like a mystery.

Cost

How much does a house refurbishment cost?

As a rough guide only, a whole-house refurbishment typically works out at around £1,500 to £2,500 per square metre, depending on the size of the property and the level of finish you choose. These figures are guides to help you plan rather than fixed prices. For an accurate quote, we will visit for free and give you a clear written estimate. Refurbishment questions

Good to know.

How long does a full house refurbishment take?

It depends on the size of the property and how much work is involved. A lighter refurbishment of a smaller home may take a few weeks, while a thorough whole-house project can run to a couple of months or more. When we visit, we will give you a realistic timeline for your home and keep you updated throughout, so you always know how the project is progressing.

Can I live in the house during the refurbishment?

For many refurbishments you can stay in your home, and we plan the work to keep disruption to a minimum, often completing one area before moving to the next. For larger projects that involve the whole house at once, it can be quicker and more comfortable to move out for part of the build. We will discuss the options with you honestly before we start.

Do you handle everything, or do I need other trades?

We handle the whole project for you. That includes building work, plastering, decorating, flooring, plumbing and electrics, and fitting kitchens and bathrooms. Having one team responsible for everything keeps the job coordinated, avoids finger-pointing between trades, and means you only ever have one point of contact. It is one of the main reasons our customers find refurbishing with us straightforward.

Will a refurbishment add value to my home?

A well-planned refurbishment usually adds real value, and just as importantly it makes your home more comfortable and enjoyable to live in every day. Updated kitchens, bathrooms, wiring and finishes all appeal to future buyers, and modernising an older property can lift it noticeably. We are happy to advise on the improvements that tend to give the best return for your budget.

Do you offer a guarantee?

Yes. We back our workmanship with a £1,000 guarantee, and we have been a Checkatrade member since 2019 with a rating of 9.67 out of 10 from 50+ reviews. As a fully insured limited company we also undertake insurance work. If anything is not right, we want to know, and we will put it right.
